NORTHERN RIVERS NSW AUSTRALIA

Last month on June 18, 2022 we held the first "ROCK ON' RIVER CONCERT" at the heart of the Ballina CBD, The Australian Hotel. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining with a gentle breeze on us in the open and spacious beergarden. Guests and ticket holders arrived in high spirits ready for a killer of a day. We did not disappoint.

The day started with everyone's favourite soul man Kelly Penney as he opened with one of his bands from the Gold Coast.. “The Black N’ Blues Trio“. We had 11 and a half hours of non stop music .. Something for everyone including local legend Glenn Garry Massey who took over from the "Black N"Blues trio" to kick it up a notch. A true performer, he wowed the audience until Nyoman Sumerta took to the stage. Nyoman is frontman from Sydney hard rock band "Monkey Grunt"  and as seen LIVE during the pandemic on our online platform THE PUB WITH NO FEAR followed Glenn with his mind blowing renditions of Bon Jovi, Myles Kennedy, Axl Rose, AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and so many more backed by our band "The Hustler and The Soundmen" He took everyones breath away. Im still trying to get over it. In the presence of world class musicians .. Then to follow that amazing performance, due to the fact that it was my birthday, it was my turn for the only pub chick rock they were going to hear all day from me ( Debi) aka "Distraction Duo" with my full band and the excitement  was through the roof. I belted out classics from Divinyls, Baby Animals and Alanis Morrisette to name a few .. 1 hour of that and I was ready to step down and watch 12 year old prodigy Jake Murdoch aka Jakeycakes up on stage to knock out a couple of his own recent released and catchy singles to his own backing tracks before blowing them away when "The Hustler and The Soundmen" join him for some Paul Kelly & Pink Floyd. 

Cleared the stage and made way for Northern Rivers all round nice guy and musical genius to do his spine tingling country rock originals .. Matty Rogers!! He was and simply is,  captivating.

Loved up couple  "Tapestry Road" serenaded everyone for dinner and their cover of a Norah Jones song " Arms of the Angels" still have people talking about them weeks later. Then it was time to buckle up for the showdown because we had who has been described as Australia’s hottest slide guitarist in the house, "The Adam Hole Band"   Adam just blows me away with his hard bluegrass roots and dirty rock, all originals with killer slide from Adam himself.... *BOOM*

We gave away lots of prizes in our raffles including a sunset river cruise for two up the Tweed River by donated by Tweed Eco River cruises for the purposes of raising money for local registered charity Aussies 4 Aussies who are assisting in rebuilds for flood effected communities.  

​

It was a fantastic day and one I will never forget for so many reasons but none more so than being asked by my soulmate to marry him in front of all our friends and family that made the pilgrimage to be there on this day, to celebrate with us and enjoy some decent live music which has been a very long time coming.
